Next Year Will Be My Year

In the beginning of the year, I dedicate the first page of my fresh sketchbook to organizing my tools and test how well they appear on the paper. This particular year I chose the CANSON Mixed Media XL 7in x 10in sketchbook. This is also the first year I began to work with COPIC markers.
Due to 2023 being the year of the rabbit , I chose to draw the Rabbit Hero MIRKO from Horikoshi’s manga, My Hero Academia.

Incredibly vivid dreams should also be considered a tool to artists. This scene played out in a dream early within the year.
How often do you find yourself to not be the main character in your own dreams?

For those who journal; how often do you look back at those entries and find yourself wondering what you were feeling that day?
My guess for this entry is that I was feeling optimistic. “Cat on my head BUT can’t get ahead” Now what did I mean by that ?!

”If no one will romanticize your life, then who will?” I think I remember that quote right, but they’re right! There are a few moments in life that are definitely worth immortalizing in some shape or form. This comic is based on a true event. No further context.

Fionna and Cake became an instant classic for me. One day I would like to revisit this series, perhaps after the moral of the series’ story becomes more engrained in my mind?
